Vijaya Nirmala Wife Of Veteran Actor Krishna And Guinness Book Record Holder For Directing more films as Lady Director She Was Also An Actress by profession. she talks about her childhood days her entry into films.

Used name Nirmala until 1965 when she started using Vijaya Nirmala in tribute to Vijaya movie studio which gave her first starring role.

In 2002, she made the Guinness Book of Records when they named her the most prolific female director, having directed 42 feature films since 1972.

Is the aunt of actresses Jayasudha and Subhashini.

GURTHUKOSTUNNAYI - SAVITRI 
Savithri was born on December 6th, in the year 1936 in Chirravur village in Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh. Nissankaram Guraviah and Subhadramma were her parents. She lost her father when she was just six years old. With her uncle’s support, she studied till third form (eighth standard) in Kasturi Bai Memorial School at Vijayawada. She learnt dancing while she was studying and got loads of appreciations whenever she performed on the stage. She was born in a wealthy family. She learnt music and classical dance under Sista Purnayya Sasthri and gave some public performances as a child in Vijayawada. She worked in a theater company run by Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao, K Jaggayya et al. Later on she started her own group, the Navabharata Natya Mandali. She also acted in a play Atma Vanchana by Buchi Babu.

She was bestowed into the film industry at a very young age (at the age of twelve) as she got an offer in the film ‘Agni Pariksha’. She merely missed the chance because she looked too young to play the role in that particular film. Soon after that, she got a key role in the film ‘Samsaram’, which was produced by the banner ‘Sadhana Chitra’ in 1950 but again bad luck shoved off the role since she felt very abashed and tensed up to take through with Akkineni Nageswara Rao as he is a big star. As a result she was replaced by Pushpalatha but was offered a small role in that movie. When the film was released, the producers and directors recognized her inborn talent. She caught chances to act in films like ‘Sankranthi’, ‘Palleturu’ etc. She performed in a dance flick in the legendary film ‘Pathala Bhairavi’ in 1951. There was no looking back for Savithri, after she had performed as a second heroine in the film ‘Pelli Chesi Choodu’ in 1952.

She made her debut in Telugu Cinema with LV Prasad's Samsaram. She acted in minor films until she turned a star with Pelli Chesi Choodu. She had to wait till Ardhangi to establish her acting credentials. She played the lead role of Mary in LV Prasad's comedy film Missamma. She acted in several films by choreographer-director Raghavaiah, e.g Devadas.

She was known for her liveliness and captivating performance and is still treated as the benchmark for acting in movies.

She acted in few Hindi films like Bahut Din Huwe, Ghar Basake Dekho, Balaram Sri Krishna and Ganga Ki Lahren.Savitri had directed films like Chinnari Papalu (1968), 'Chiranjeevi', 'Maathru Devatha' and 'Vintha Samsaram' in Telugu. 'Kuzhanthai Ullam' and 'Praptham' in Tamil.

She is very good director.

Savitri was also involved in lot of social activities. She met the Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri and donated all her jewellery for the Prime Minister's Relief Fund. She also built a high school in Andhra Pradesh.

Her favorite sports were cricket and chess. She used to play chess at home. She claimed that her favorite sports person was Gary Sobers. She participated in many celebrity cricket matches. Rashtrapati Award for best acting for the film Chivaraku Migiledi in 1960.Kalaimamani from the Government of Tamil Nadu.

GURTHUKOSTUNNAYI - SP. SAILAJA


Sripathi Panditaradhyula Sailaja is a versatile Indian singer. She lent her voice to Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films. She has sung about 5000 songs to date. Her brother SP Balasubramanyam is a prolific singer in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam and many other languages. She is married to actor Subhalekha Sudhakar. She has also given voice for various artists like Tabu, Sonali Bendre, Sridevi etc. Besides a Playback singer, she is also a Classical Dancer.

Mrs Krishnaveni is a veteran Telugu actress, singer and producer. She is also known as C. Krishnaveni and M. Krishnaveni. She was a drama artist before entering into movies. Her debut was as a child artist in Sati Anasuya-Dhruva in 1936. She later acted in 15 Telugu films and also in a few Tamil and Kannada films as the heroine.

She married Raja of Mirzapuram (birth name Meka Rangaiah), a Telugu movie producer and later produced many films herself. She presented Telugu traditional values and ethnic songs in her movies. She produced Mana Desam, a milestone film in Telugu film industry in 1949. She introduced popular Telugu actors N. T. Rama Rao, S. V. Ranga Rao with that film. She also introduced famous playback singer Ghantasala as a music director with that film. Since then she had introduced many singers, actors and music directors. She introduced the famous music director Ramesh Naidu with the film Damptayam in 1957.She won the prestigious Raghupathi Venkaiah Award in 2004 for her lifetime service to Telugu film industry.

K. Jamuna Rani is a prolific Indian Playback singer who has sung over 6,000 songs in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Sinhala languages. She first contributed her voice to film at the age of seven for the Telugu movie Tyagayya (1946).She had a hit with "Asauym Ennesamum" from the Tamil film Gulebakaavali in 1955.

Jamuna was a stage artist in school. Her mother taught her vocal music and harmonium. Dr. Rajarao watched her stage show Maa Bhoomi and gave her offer to act in his movie Puttillu in 1952. She acted in 198 films in Telugu and other south Indian languages. She also acted in Hindi films, winning the Filmfare Best Supporting Actress Award for Milan (1967), repeating her role from the original Telugu film Mooga Manasulu (1963). She also established Telugu artist association and doing social service through it for the last 25 years.

Krishna Kumari is a noted Telugu actress of the 1960s and 1970s.She was a leading actress and competed Savitri and acted alongside great legendary actors N.T.R, A.N.R etc. She acted in Tamil movies too. She has done many films in Kannada too that also with the kannada veteran Dr. Rajkumar, especially in many mythologic films.Krishna Kumari started her career with movie Navvithe Navaratnalu in 1951. Anjali Devi was a theater artist before entering into movies. Her film debut was as Lohitasya in Raja Harishchandra in 1936. She acted in Lava Kusha, a milestone film and the first color film in the Telugu film industry in 1963. She acted in various roles like damsel, angel, dancer, goddess, traditional woman and later in mother characters.

Sankaramanchi Janaki (born December 12, 1931), popularly known as Shaukar Janaki, is a south-Indian actress who has acted in over 385 Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam films. She also performed on stage in over 300 shows, and performed for TANA all over the United States in 2 Telugu plays created by actor Murali Mohan.

At age 11, she was a radio artist in Telugu programs. She started her acting career when she had a three month old baby and went on to become a popular actress with hits such as Sowcar (Telugu), Pudhiya Paravai (Tamil), Iru Kodugal (Tamil). She also played lead roles with famous directors such as Dada Mirasee, K Balachandar. She loves gardening, cooking and helping the needy in her own humble way.

Her original name was Vasundara. She learnt Bharata Natyam and Music. She was working as a Air Hostess, when she was discovered by the film director C. V. Sridhar. He gave the heroine role in his film Kadalikka Neramillai in 1963.

Kanchana, the heroine of 150 films in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi, in the 1970s.
She is known for her Natural acting in many movies. Kanchana acted in over 150 films, in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi movies. She retired from films in the early 1980s.[1] In 2005, she was presented with the MGR award and in 2007 the ANR Swarna Kankanam award.

She was appropriately known as the Queen of the Seventies in South Indian film industry. Her performances in the movies Kalyana Mandapam, Pavitra Bandam, Manchivadu were well appreciated and recognized.[3] She played the role of Uttara in the film Veerabhimanyu (1965) along with Shobhan Babu which established her in the industry. Next year she acted in Annapurna pictures film Aatma Gowravam with veteran director K. Viswanath.

She acted with Krishna in some glamarous roles in Ave Kallu, Nenante Nene and Dharma Daata. Not only in social roles, she acted some mythological roles in pictures like Shri Krishnavataram (1967). After retirement as heroine, she acted in some goood films like Ananda Bhairavi and Shrimad Virat Veerabrahmendra Swami Charitra in 1984.

Kanchana received the MGR Award for 2003.
