Recipes - Cooking tips - Beans

  • If you put the dried beans for 8 hours then it acquires 8 times more nutrients.


  • Put dried beans in a bowl of cold water, and discard any that float to the surface, since this is an indication of insect or mold damage.


  • You can cook beans in just salted water, or you can get fancy and add some aromatic vegetables.


  • When cooking beans, any additional ingredients, such as acidic substances, such as lemon juice, vinegar, tomatoes or ketchup should be added at the end of the cooking time, since acid makes the beans firm.
