First Indian women - Surekha Yadav Asia's first woman engine driver

On the occasion of International Women's Day, Surekha Yadav, Asia's first woman train driver, got the opportunity of driving the Deccan Queen, one of India's most prestigious trains.

Surekha Yadav, 46, started her career as an assistant diver in 1989 and worked her way up to become a goods driver in 1996, and then a motorwoman in 2000.

Last year, she graduated to a Ghat driver. Since 10 months now, she has served as mail driver.
